The new headquarters of Urban Hope Indy is located at 2822 East New York Street in Indy. We call it the “The Connection House” because it is where our mentors and mentees are “connected” for the very first time. Our prayer is that this initial meeting is only the beginning of a relationship that will change both lives forever!
Originally built in 1900, the property is zoned for both commercial and residential use and has been utilized for various Christian ministries over the past 35 years. The property encompasses over 3,000 square feet of finished interior space and includes a 2-car garage, a side yard and a large pergola behind the house. Urban Hope acquired the property in 2019.
The downstairs includes a farm table in the dining room where all of our “first meeting” conversations will occur. The upstairs houses our administrative offices and a conference room for our board meetings.
Due to the pandemic, remodeling the property took about two years. We updated plumbing and electrical wiring. We replastered walls and ceilings. We installed new lighting and plumbing fixtures, and we gave each room a fresh coat of paint. It is now substantially complete and a huge answer to our prayers!
