Mentor/Mentee Spotlight:Hannah Ray

For this edition of our newsletter, we’re honored to highlight our Director of Programs — and resident superstar mentor — Hannah Ray.

Hannah is the lead designer of the Urban Hope Indy mentorship curriculum, a framework built on the 7 dimensions of wellness and a trauma-informed approach. Her intentional and detailed system echoes through every one of our programs here at UHI — from 1:1 mentorship, to our art & basketball club, to our community group mentorship event, “The Friday Thing”.

Her impact certainly doesn’t stop there. Hannah runs point on recruiting qualified mentors, facilitating every mentor-mentee match, and coordinating with all families involved in our group mentorship programs. She also consistently steps up and supports our families when crisis hits.

Leading by example, Hannah is a guiding light for what real, effective mentorship looks like for our mentors at Urban Hope Indy. She has two mentees, both straight-A scholars with big dreams, and still finds time to pour into several other children who are waiting to be matched. Every week she can be found taking her flock of mentees on new adventures, encouraging them that they can do anything they want in this world, and providing them opportunities to holistically grow — mind, body, and spirit.

She is the driving force of our social media presence — filming, editing, and sharing the impactful moments from our programs and events. (We know, it’s hard to believe she fits this all into one life.)

We, the Urban Hope Indy team, felt it was important to give you a glimpse of the heart of our operations. Her name is Hannah Ray, and we truly don’t know what we’d do without her. Thank you Hannah for all of the love you pour into your people, our mission, and the community of Indianapolis!
